Sockeye salmon are returning to Lake Cle Elum by truck, but returning nonetheless as part of the Yakima/Klickitat Fisheries Project. The native sockeye population in the lake died out decades ago when a dam was built at the lake's outlet that leads to the Yakima River. The dam was built to provide a steady supply of water for irrigation. On May 11, , the ISRP completed a review of the Yakama Nation’s Klickitat River Spring Chinook Master Plan ( Master Plan) for project #, Klickitat River Design and Construction-Yakima/Klickitat Fisheries Project (YKFP) (ISRP ).

Stones, worms, sculpins, and various streamers working well. Next couple weeks look very mild and should be some great fishing. Not too long and we will see some adult Skwalas flying around.

The YKFP is a joint project of the Yakama Nation (lead entity) and the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), and is sponsored in large part by the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) with oversight and guidance from the Northwest Power and.

Yakima Klickitat Fisheries Project (YKFP) Project abstract: To restore sustainable and harvestable populations of salmon, steelhead, and other at-risk species, the YKFP is evaluating all stocks historically present in the Yakima and Klickitat Subbasins and, using principles of adaptive management, is applying a combination of habitat protection.

The Yakima Klickitat Fisheries Project (YKFP) is a salmon supplementation project in the Yakima and Klickitat river basins in Washington State designed to use artificial propagation in an attempt to maintain or increase natural production while maintaining long-term fitness of the target population and keeping ecological and genetic impacts to non-target species within specified limits.

The Yakima/Klickitat Fisheries Project (YKFP) is an adaptive management and research project designed to restore anadromous fish and the habitats that support them in the Yakima and Klickitat subbasins in south central Washington state. In the Klickitat River subbasin, the YKFP is a research-driven project that guides implementation of.

Abstract. This report covers one of many topics under the Yakima/Klickitat Fisheries Project's Monitoring and Evaluation Program (YKFPME). The YKFPME is funded under two BPA contracts, one for the Yakama Nation and the other for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (Contract numberProject Number ).

Yakima/Klickitat Fisheries Project was developed in to test the assumptions that artificial production can be used to 1) increase harvest opportunities, 2) enhance the natural production of depleted stocks in the Yakima and Klickitat Basins, and 3).
